Request Description

will embedium ever be updated on fabric?

commented

hopefully soon!

It's very possible, but my main focus is on NeoForge for now as I'm relatively inexperienced with the Fabric ecosystem.

^^ Would love this

I would also love for this to be a reality, as now I refuse to use any version of Sodium newer than 0.5.11 due to the licensing changes

what did they change about the licence?

commented

what did they change about the licence?

Specifically, Sodium changed their license to Polyform Shield - a change which some people disagree with as it's not OSI approved and arguably doesn't fall under their definition of an open source license.

While I feel that me maintaining Embeddium makes it clear what my stance is, the main issue is that I'm simply far too inexperienced with Fabric in general so ensuring that the quality is comparable is a much harder challenge. I don't doubt that I will eventually end up updating the Fabric version of Embeddium, but as it stands currently I'd rather focus on one platform so that I can improve my familiarity with the Embeddium codebase.

Wait so they're trying to stop people from using their code in projects that could compete with theirs? That is really dumb
