Almost everything renders at a lower alpha value when pressing shift key, why?

this issue happens in modpack Spell Dimension 0.6.4
and it no longer occurs after removing emi loot or going back to its old version.

I have no idea to be honest; liekly some subtle mod incompatibility, as EMI Loot doesn't do that on its own
