Is this a publicly available modpack that I can test on from my end?
Packing in local. I'll try to reproduce with less mod.
Can u give me some advice of possible reason?
This is similar to other bugs I've been trying to track down for a while. Seems like some mod (or mods) is adding really weird loot conditions. So far haven't exactly narrowed it down yet
[[202306041145]]
- I found out the reason. But not the mod change this
[11:15:42] [Netty Local Client IO #0/ERROR] (emi_loot) Client table minecraft:entities/zombie had a TextKey decoding error while reading a loot condition at index 4!
for (int i = 0; i < conditionSize; i++) {
try {
TextKey key = TextKey.fromBuf(buf);
qualifierList.add(key);
} catch (DecoderException e){
EMILoot.LOGGER.error("Client table " + id + " had a TextKey decoding error while reading a loot condition at index "+ b +"!");
}
}
[[202306041201]]
- The sent data seems wrong when parsing. The conditions size should be 2 but got 1 in client.
[[202306041224]]
- The sent data condition, function, built map sizes should be
- 001
- 202
- 001
- 001
[[202306041227]]
Seems the value should be like pared as ClientRawPool like this
But the third failed
As the items are from https://modrinth.com/mod/forgero. I'll try to remove them,
Seems the pool is bigger than the string can accept. Maybe the pool should be sent as a structure inseads of string
It works. modrinth.com/mod/forgero caused that
Thank you very much for the detective work. Whats strange about all this... why Netty isn't throwing an Encoder exception, only decoder? It supposedly checks for string length at both send and receive. I'll have to check on my Mob Loot sender a bit more closely, as I thought the Chest Pool thats being used to store data here would not send as a string already
Ah, I think I know the issue. I'm (naively) writing a lot of structure sizes as byte
. So I'm guessing that pool is overflowing the byte and the decoding is simply failing because of indexing errors
Lul. That's it. 171 is larger than the byte can accept. Maybe ubyte ore ushort?

Ok, the version of EMI Loot you are using (0.5.0) is out of date. Try updating to version 0.6.2. If the issue persists feel free to reopen and I will take a closer look
Oh MB. I'm using CLI mod manager to download. But it not give me the newest version :(
Well. The 0.6.2 not marks as quilt. But 0.5.0 is. So the manager prefer the quilt instead of newer version
