@Abbie5 Many thanks for your response. The problem is that I'm currently on 1.20.1, so I'm doing the textures manually.

First, I recommend updating to the latest version of EMI Ores so that the missing texture isn't so ugly.

To add a biome icon for a modded biome with ID ie. examplemod:examplebiome, put a 16x16 png texture at this location in a resource pack:
assets/examplemod/textures/emi_ores/biome_icon/examplebiome.png

I plan to add this information to documentation as tracked in #28
