Feat: In crafting mode, a way to mark a non-crafting-grid (furnace, etc) transaction as "in progress"

It'd be nice if items that need me to leave them in a separate inventory/machine to be processed, so that when I look away from that machine, the crafting sidebar doesn't complain about the missing ingredients.
Detailed Example
I'll take the Tech Reborn Carbon Plate as an example.
If I want to make 20 of those, I need to start with 160 Coal, put it through a Grinder to create 160 Coal Dust, use a Crafting Table to make 40 Carbon Fiber, use the inventory's Crafting Grid to turn that into 20 Carbon Mesh, and then use a Compressor to finally make those into Carbon Plates.
Once I have the coal, the red 160 by Coal goes away, and the yellow 160 by Coal Dust becomes blue:
But then when I put the Coal into the Grinder to actually make it into Coal Dust...
... now it's acting like I need to start with finding Coal again.
It would be nice to be able to mark the Coal Dust here as "in progress", maybe shown with a green number or so. A craft in progress would also not look for constituent ingredients.
When the item that's marked as "in progress" is obtained, then of course the number would go away.
