If this issue is related to compatibility with other mods, such as missing recipes, make sure to follow these steps before reporting

• [ x ] Make sure the recipe exists in game and can be crafted
• [ x ] If the mod requires JEI, make sure both EMI and JEI are installed together
• [ x ] Report this issue to the mod if applicable

There seems to be an issue where EMI does not like to show the recipes for anything from the Sophisticated Storage mod. Not sure if this is an issue with them or with EMI but if you have just JEI you can see them. The problem arises once you have EMI which stops all of the different types of chest and barrels from appearing. There is a report to Sophisticated Storage team but figured I would report here in case it is an EMI issue.
