Pretty low priority IMO, just nice to have

This will break the UI based on the exact alignment of characters in the chat (and not only). Datapacks UI, for example.

Well, I'm wondering if the same trick that discord uses could be done? Which is to convert all utf8 emojis into :equivalent_colon_emoji: e.g. from 🦇 to :bat:

it's fully a nice-to-have, not necessary by any stretch of the imagination.

its perfect atm we can use both so this is really point less.
