In the basic infuser, you can add the thorns enchantment only to the chestplate, not all armor pieces like vanilla.

This behavior is intentional. Thorns is an anvil-exclusive enchantment for armor pieces other than chestplates (meaning you cannot get it in an enchanting table, but you can use books in an anvil to apply it). The basic infuser does not allow applying anvil-exclusive enchantments, while the advanced infuser does.

You can allow anvil-exclusive enchantments for the basic infuser in the config file.
