Simple suggestion: Faster blink speed for the little vertical line that shows where typed letters are going to appear. The current timer is annoying to edit with, since it's easy to lose when moving it around, and you have to constantly sit around waiting for it to blink to know where it is. Move caret, wait two seconds, move caret, write some text, move caret, wait two seconds, move caret, wait two seconds, etc. It makes writing incredibly tedious.
