Campfires are preventing ALL hostile mob spawns, including those from spawn eggs, the /summon command and other sources such as Occultism possession rituals. This could also be considered an incompatibility but I submitted it as a bug because I think it doesn't make sense for it to override vanilla mechanics like eggs or commands.
