Directly upgrading conduits breaks connections

Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I did not find any existing issues.

Current Behavior

When upgrading a conduit to a higher tier (e.g. Fluid Conduit to Pressurized Fluid Conduit) then connections will stop functioning.

Expected Behavior

Upgrading a full line of conduits in-place will continue operation once fully replaced.

How to Test

  1. Create a new world.

  2. Place a pair of fluid tanks and a line of Fluid Conduits connecting them. Fill the first tank with a fluid and set the second conduit's connection to insert.

Image

  1. Set the first tank's conduit connection to extract with Redstone Mode "Always On". Fluid will begin flowing.

Image

  1. While the fluid is flowing, upgrade the Fluid Conduits to Pressurized Fluid Conduits by right-clicking them with Pressurized Fluid Conduits in-hand.

Image

The fluid will stop flowing, and will not begin again unless both conduits' "Insert" and "Extract" toggles are re-toggled.

Local Environment

- **Operating System**: Windows 10
- **Java version**: Oracle JDK-17.0.12
- **Minecraft Version**: 1.20.1
- **Version**: 6.2.11-beta
- **Other Mods**: EMI and JEI

I regret to say that we no longer officially support Minecraft 1.20.1 - as such we will not be officially fixing this issue.

If any community member wishes to submit a pull request to address this issue, feel free to open a PR and we will review and merge it.

I will close outstanding 1.20.1 issues in a little while, to keep the issue list clear.

Thanks again for your report.
