This would be helpful to future integrations like FTB Ultimine and will enable anyone to add these easily, rather than just ourselves.

For example, the FTB Ultimine integration relies on a lot of private functionality not exposed by our API.

Doing this should help make conduits more extensible and encourage better code reuse (that's the theory anyway).
