Describe the bug
If a creeper is spawned with the ability to walk while close exploding, it will only and always move on the one axis, no matter where the player actually is.
In the video, there is a good example of the bug at the beginning of the testing and at the end, where it can be seen clearly that the creeper doesn't go to the player.

Versions where you encountered the problem (Use the exact version numbers, not 'latest' or similar):

  • Minecraft: 1.20.1
  • Forge: 47.4.0
  • Enhanced AI: 2.5.8
  • InsaneLib: 1.19.0

Steps to reproduce

  1. Spawn creepers
  2. Get close
  3. Watch them do dumb stuff

Can the issue be reproduced with EnhancedAI only (or with a minimal set of mods)?
Yes (only EMI, insanelib and enhanced ai on the video)

The creepers don't go towards the me but just go to the side when exploding, I spawned quite a lot but only few had the ability to move while in the explosion phase. I'm talking about that moving to the side on the explosion phase instead of walking towards the player

That's the beta creepers feature.

wait so whats the point of the creepers walking around the target, as in how does that make them more damaging / make them worse for the player? But thanks for clearing it up

Should it?

I kind of assumed it was supposed to due to its high chance in the config (0.35)

High chance means that it's not a big threat, so spawns often.
