Can confirm this happening with StayTrue resourcepack.

Can confirm this happening to chests only with StayTrue resourcepack in the latest version, seems to be related to the texture pack changing chest blockstate or model.
Deleting ./assets/minecraft/blockstates/chest.json solves the issue for StayTrue.

The same thing happens to me. The only thing the texture I made does is compress textures to save space. It still renders them invisible even if the texture dosent change the image of the chest.
