I can't find a setting to turn spawners off, even though it's mentioned in your description.
No ingame setting.
No general "disable_spawners" setting in spawnermod.json.

How can I disable mob spawners in general?

What version are you playing on?

And, have you tried any of the following:

• Put a lever on the spawner block and activate the lever?
• Craft a Spawner Key and right click on the spawner block, with the key.

If you are on a very old version, then the feature might be missing
