it is possible to cancel animations but you have to go through a tedious process,
it can be very useful
Ex. this much code is needed to cancel holding animation

add a new variable that lets you to change the holding animations
ex. like is_holding or smth

Does OptiFine do this
optifine kinda does it but it does not have a special variable for holding
