I don't know if this is a bug or not, but in 1.20.1 the behavior of the player in battle mode does not change even when in building mode. The attack methods and such change without any problem, but the behavior remains the same in battle mode when the player performs basic actions such as moving. Because of this, it is difficult to distinguish which mode is the current one.
