[Suggestion]: Add adaptive animations for climbing and riding.

What's your suggestion?

If player climbs the ladder or rides an entity, then his head will rotate up and down, but not left and right. Implementing only head rotations would be boring, so I suggest to add adaptive animations for these activities.

Examples

Let's take horse riding. If you decide to stop galloping and want to look around, then you're instinctively rotating body with your head and move around legs, if needed.

The same concept applies to ladder climbing. Player wants to look backwards. It is easier to do that when hand (and leg) is off.

Implementation

Climbing

If player holds "Forward" button, then he climbs up normally. But you can also make your character climb with jumps by holding "Jump" button.

Riding

  • Player is riding a big entity. To avoid falling off, he would put his hands on the entity (e.g. Horse);
  • If player is riding a little entity, then it is no longer required to hold it (e.g. Pig with a saddle);
  • Riding any other entity will result in regular sitting animation without adaptations (e.g. Armor stand).

Player looks backwards while climbing.

Note, that player cannot hug the ladder like on the image above.

Riding

Player sits nicely on the horse, even if he is looking away.
Player looks backwards while riding the horse.
