The Issue
When a mob is riding the player, they become invulnerable to Epic Fight attacks.
This is NOT the case for vanilla combat. With vanilla combat, you are able to attack entities that are riding the player.
There are some mods such as Alex's Mob's (and likely others im not aware of) that make hostile entities ride the player and attack them until the player hits them. In the mosquitos from Alex's Mob's case, this brings the mob from a slightly annoying easy enemy, to one of the most frustrating and dangerous enemies in the nether.
If entities riding the player being invulnerable to the players attacks is intentional, may I suggest a blacklist tag for what entities can be invulnerable? that way things that are intentionally using this mechanic with hostile mobs work as expected.
"Just switch to vanilla combat to hit it" is technically a solution, however the server ive been playing with explicitly disables vanilla combat to force the use of Epic Fight. I feel like we are far from the only group who disables the vanilla combat either.
Steps to Reproduce
Using the mod Player Ladder to bypass the "no riding players" restriction on the /ride command, its easy to test with only Epic Fight installed. Just use /ride <entityuuid> mount @p
and attempt to attack them with Epic Fight attacks, see it does nothing, disable battle mode and use vanilla attacks, and see you are able to deal damage.
