Crash to title when placing "knight armor with white surcoat" on crafting grid

Steps to Reproduce
- Minecolonies Official modpack available from Curseforge
- Allow content management for the profile, then add this mod
- Craft knight armor and add a white banner to it (or a "colony flag banner" from Minecolonies, which acts as a white banner for crafting purposes), either plain or dyed with the loom, to make a surcoat
- Place the armor with surcoat back in the crafting grid
Expected Behavior
Either a bag of un-crafted armor and banner, or no valid recipe
Actual Behavior
Crash to title screen

Additional Comments
I assume this is reproduceable with other armors and other banner colors.
I don't know if old Minecraft editions are under active development, but hopefully this being just one version behind and causing an actual game crash helps.
