Fabric Loader backport to 0.14.22 - 0.14.25?

The mod uses 0.15.3 FML but most mods have issues and crash after i upgrade the loader to that version.
Follow-up question: Can i manually change it without the mod breaking? if i tinker in the mod file that is. Or does the mod absolutely need 0.15.3?
