Which mods does Every Compat have issues with: (EDITED)

All MCW mods, and JEI

FORGE Version Availability (EDITED)

  • 1.18.2
  • 1.19.2
  • 1.20.1

ISSUE DETAILS (EDITED)

The latest version of everycomp does allow the world to load with MCW, BUT with JEI I keep getting these errors and the world is very slow and memory issues seem to happen as well:
[03:02:45] [Render thread/ERROR]: A Screen is opening but JEI hasn't started yet.
Normally, JEI is started after ClientPlayerNetworkEvent.LoggedInEvent, TagsUpdatedEvent, and RecipesUpdatedEvent.
Something has caused one or more of these events to fail, so JEI is starting very late.
[03:02:45] [Render thread/INFO]: JEI StartEventObserver transitioning state from ENABLED to DISABLED
[03:02:45] [Render thread/INFO]: JEI StartEventObserver transitioning state from DISABLED to ENABLED

I need the full latest.log, so please drag the file in here, it will get uploaded.

Upon testing, by removing this mod, and adding in all the MCW mods, the world loads extremely fast and there are no stutters or lags, I can produce the log, but its very long, since I have many mods

commented

Ill see if i can find my logfile that had all the mods mcw in it, this log that I did find had 3 of them I believe but was still very slow

I'll post more logs with all the mcw mods if needed but one thing is for sure everycompat still conflicts heavily with mcw mods even if a new world can be generated

commented

alright, I'll wait for the answer to which culprit for causing the problem.

alright, I'll wait for the answer to which culprit for causing the problem.

Ill send the log with all MCW mods and Everycompat in a few mins, that's the best I can do, I recommend getting a new world, putting in JEI, JER, Everycompat and all the MCW mods above, and see how they conflict with each other, whether that's with recipes or world gen, regardless I'm seeing massive lag spikes when these 2 mod types are put together

Here is a log where with all the MCW mods and everycomp latest version a world was not even able to load, ill see if I can try again and get into a world

This is why the world could not load mind you, when these 2 mod types are not placed together there is no memory issue
image

commented

For some reason a world wont even load now, always gives the memory error, trust me I have enough memory, so please check
latest.log
Please test it on ur own

commented

That's no conflict at all, you just ran out of memory

Wrong, there is a conflict, otherwise the world
would not stutter just cause mcw mod was, added or run fine when everycomp was removed and vice versa, I also have 15gb
assigned and usually get 400 fps without
stutters, when both mod types are not present

commented

It should produce "crash-report", please provide that, too.
it's under ~/.minecraft/crash-report/...

I'll need the name of mod that add new woods.

It does not crash, either I'll get into a world that will take 4x as long or a world will take infinite loading time to load, but I'll try to load a world and test it out again

commented

Again idk which of the mcw mods most conflict with everycomp, all I know is any mcw mod added seems to slow the world but I'll look into it

commented

Idk I just looked at your last crash. That clearly states you ran out of ram

commented

How is it that if I have all mcw mods present but not everycomp, I never run out of ram, but just by adding everycomp I suddenly run out of ram, and vice versa, I don't always run out of ram, if I do manage to get into a world it's very Laggy, I'll try to send a log where I got into a world

MehVahdJukaar is correct. I had no problem so far. I'm not seeing any stutters. Like I said ๐Ÿ‘‡

my previous comment
are u using the modpack for your client and server to run at the same time using up the resources? That is the only thing I can think of.

Please add this in the main directory as well https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Y7uEXpJ8zl4u7gO6GsVWyEr_9CVdG1uD?usp=sharing You will get the memory error too I believe

commented

Ill just see if I can send the modpack so you dont have to download all these mods

commented

As Ive said this is nothing but a ram issue. If your system gets close to the ram limit java will struggle to clear it up causing stutters. If you install dozens od furniture mod EC could register a billion blocks which take up resources just to start

my previous comment > that crash report is saying you run out of memory like MehVahdJukaar said. you say "large modpack". with Every Compat, it can add a lot of furnitures/block based on how many mods you have that add Wood variants. I check the modlist you have in the crash-report: Chipped, it could make Minecraft exploded due to "too much of blocks added" or "lack of RAM", try disable Chipped and see if it doesn't use too much RAM

I got an interesting message, I added a few more mods from the pack I could think of and it says something about chipped being an offender? Your MOD everycompat is the one giving the message, but chipped RUNS fine when MCW mods are not included

What's the total RAM available do you have on your computer? The Allocated RAM has to be at least 4GB. if it's a modpack, then it has to be at least 6GB. Sometimes, too much RAM is not a good thing. you gotta give it just right amount of RAM, not "too much" RAM.

You are not answering my question. which mod that adds the wood variant?? (BOP, BYG, twilightforest??)

The ram I have set for this modpack is 15GB as its a large modpack, mods that add wood types in this modpack I'm aware of is BOP, BYG, Twilight forest, Environmentals, Regions unexplored, biomebackport, theaether, theaether redux, blue skies , feywild, ars nouvea, Quark, Quark Oddities
the undergarten, and ill see if I see any others, let me test this out again

Here is the modpack, just download it and run it on curseforge or something: If you use this you dont have to download anything else, I used 11 GB ram for 60 ish mods and it was not enough https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15QNYzvi3JzKdeB016I1CcV5T_uao5kH2?usp=sharing

One of the only crashes I got was this, believe this happened, cause I used an old version of everycomp by mistake

that crash report is saying you run out of memory like MehVahdJukaar said. you say "large modpack".

with Every Compat, it can add a lot of furnitures/block based on how many mods you have that add Wood variants. I check the modlist you have in the crash-report: Chipped, it could make Minecraft exploded due to "too much of blocks added" or "lack of RAM", try disable Chipped and see if it doesn't use too much RAM

edit: resource pack can use RAM, too. Not just mods. IIRC 32x resource to 128x would require at least 2gb... 128x or higher (max: 512x resourcepack) would require at least 3gb. The another type of resource pack are: 3D resource pack that change the way items looks. It can eat up RAM, too.

I think I have a log that might be more helpful, I added all the mods that add wood that i could think of with everycomp and MCW and I got the following log, as minecraft would not load

I am seeing some interlap between MCW and this mod but dont know if its what the reason is for the larger lag issue and JEI stutter on the larger modpacks

The main thing I'm confused on is if even if chiseled is the problem, why does removing the MCW mods cause it to work fine with everycompat

Yeah just tested it out, in the modpack if you remove the MCW mods, you can easily get into Minecraft 5x the speed

Can you see if you can find which one of the MCW mods is the culprit? or 2 culprits? my best guess: Macaw's Doors, try disabling it and see if it makes any difference.

EDIT:
Macaw's Door has an extra support from Dramatic Doors via Every Compat. In other words. there are tall door versions for Macaw's Doors.

I will see what I can do, but I can tell you once thing for sure, deleting ALL of the MCW mods, causes the world to load perfectly and Minecraft to load fast without memory issues, even if Chiseled and everycompat is present

Feel free to download the mod pack I gave above and test it out urself, if Mcaw has support with dramatic doors what does that mean, I don't need dramatic doors or its conflicting

Does your computer not see any memory issues or stutters, with all the mods present in the modpack, I don't think your computer will be even able to load into a world, I know my computer could not even load Minecraft when they are all present, removing the MCW mods is how I gave the log and debug above, as it loaded fast, but ill test out the MCW mods as what you said

Sure just download the modpack, and everything is set up for you to try, give it 11GB or ram, and see, it will give u a memory issue, and then as soon as u remove MCW mods, you will load fine with 11GB, I believe if you remove everycompat and keep the MCW mods, you will be able to run the modpack fine too, its only when mcw is present with everycompat can I see memory issues

Ok, I see what you mean by "stuttering". I used 12GB and checked via F3. The 80-89% of RAM is filled up. just barely enough. I'm going to increase it to 14GB and see if that's good enough. or not. after that, I'll try to disable Macaw's Door. How are things going on your side? are you able to find the culprit?

Still looking, ill update you as soon as I figure it out, but try to run the pack WITHOUT an MCW mods and see the difference

14GB barely made an improvement. I determined that the modpack will need at least 16GB. insane. I'll try without MCW mods. the total of blocks added by Every Compat is 341 blocks out of 603

16GB ram for 60 mods is ridiculous lol

Yes but the issue is, why does removing MCW mods suddenly make such a huge difference, btw my default modpack is 500 mods, not 60 and without the MCW mods, it runs fine with 15GB assigned to it

I removed MCW bridges, got into a world after some time finally, but still ram all the way up to 89% with 15GB assigned, ill continue disabling until it works faster

commented

it makes no difference. there was some noticeable stuttering. just barely. I can see it. Here's the details:

  • without MCW mods: 153/379 - 40% of the blocks are from Every Compat
  • with MCW mods: 341/603 - 56%

With MCW mods, it more than doubles the amount of 153.

commented

hmm. alright, i'll run a test without Every Comapt with all MCW mods enabled.

OMG it loads so much faster with everycomp gone lmao, and MCW there, its like I told u they seem incompatible somehow and it ONLY uses 43% RAM when everycomp is gone, its so weird

For me it loads better without MCW mods, but I did figure something out, disabling MCW bridges, doors, fences and walls, and furniture CAUSES it to be using only 60% of ram, idk if one of these mods are the culprit or something else

Im surprised deleting all MCW mods didn't make the modpack run faster for u, can u try this again? Minecraft should have loaded much faster, ACTUALLY try removing everycomp and keeping the MCW mods in and see what happens?

if you get same result test it AGAIN, but add everycomp and remove every MCW mods, cause it runs fast for me vice versa too

Found a new error. not related to everycomp but wonder if this mod is also causing issues

Okay my final testing is done, IF you remove EVERYCOMP, max ram being used is 43%, if you remove MCW mods max ram being used is 63%, IF you keep both MCW and Everycomp together, max ram being used goes up to 89% and above

there are bad codes and good codes. bad codes have poor performance & can cause stutter in-game. Good code won't cause a stutter and has excellent performance (as in little or no impact on performance).

unfortunately, MCW mods aren't open-sourced on Github. The best thing a coder can do is decompile the mods' source code and take a look. Decompile is may or may not be accurate in some cases (speaking from experiences)

The following tests are:

  • 217/464 - 47% without Macaw's Door, Fence, Furniture, Bridge - Max ram: 87%
  • ( PREVIOUS COMMENT) without MCW mods: 153/379 - 40%
    - Max ram: ~55% IIRC
  • 294/550 - 53% without Macaw's Door - Max ram: 87%

apparently, something in the code of MCW mods is causing the max ram to reach 87%. It's not Every Compat's problem because its blocks is just follows how the mod is telling their block to behave,

that's the conclusion I've come to. This issue will be closing now.

the performance is similar with EveryCompat without MCW mods.

that's good. performance is important. tbh, I am quite surprised that the Max Ram reached: 87% with just MCW mods. without all of it, it was normal with Every Compat or without. Of course, I suspected Macaws Mods may have some poor codes that impact the performance, Hard to say for sure. I'll be waiting to see what the devs discover on their side. At least we know the culprit is all of the MCW mods. which is good enough.

Also as a final note, thank you for doing the testing that you did, its helpful

I'm glad the info is helpful. Hopefully, this can be resolved by Macaw's Devs.

Can confirm after testing, the two with the highest memory usage are Doors and Fences.
Which I have no idea how to optimize further since they are just using vanilla FenceBlock, WallBlock, DoorBlock when registering.
As seen here : Fences, Doors.

Fences are adding 1.3 GB to the memory consumption
Doors are adding 2.1 GB to the memory consumption
= When both are used with no other mods, they both use around 55 MB

Any ideas on how to make it more friendly with multiple wood variants are welcome.

many wood mods + many furniture mods = EC registers a milion billion blocks which take a bunch of ram, theres no other way, thats how that works.
Either limit the wood mods you have, install less furniture mods, give the game more ram or play with incomplete wood sets

The issue is chips adds a bunch of variants as well far more than MCW but its not as memory hungry and without mcw mods, the 60 mod modpack runs fine, just adding MCW mods causes the modpack to need up to 16gb ram for just 60 mods, but if you remove everycomp, or mcw mods or vice versa suddenly the ram usage is great, you just can not have mcw mods and everycomp together as that's the killer, the main thing now is probably making the code work better so it uses less ram for mcw mods

As an update the main developer at Mcaw has found a way to reduce states by half in many instances, leading to better loading times and the priority from them will be optimization, thank you for everyone on this thread for all the testing and suggestions
