Regions unexplored has 2 types of beard:

Joshua Beard
Palm Beard

regions_unexplored:joshua_beard
regions_unexplored:palm_beard

I'd love to see different wood versions of those.

And maybe add branches versions of those 2 types of wood to be consistent.
I know that beards are used like branches for those types of wood (#383) but i'd like to see more wood variants with those.

ok. you are not the first one who request this in the past. I forgot it doesn't have the vanilla WoodType for beards

i cannot support that because it must have OAK or other vanilla woodType. Sorry, there is nothing I can do.
