Will there be a chance for a simple cobblestone/mossy cobblestone golems and stone golems to be added?

commented

It would be nice to be able to configure the list of 'flowers' melon, netherwart and mushroom golems can plant. Also, the potion effects the Librarian and Lapis golems can use.

Edit by skyjay: Added in 1.16.5 and 1.17.1

Also would you make an addon based on the GemsPlusPlus mod

My fav is the diamond golem, so I will put suggestions for him:

  1. Increase their attack damage to a round 26 per hit, this is to one shot witches.
  2. Diamond golem ability: Cognition, simply say that they detect enemies faster (before they manage to hit him) than other golems who use default iron golem detecting AI. This will make it so that you don't have to fix the golem as often.
  3. Player contract: Diamond golems that are created by players will recognize that humans are their master and not villagers, if the human got harmed than they will kill the attacker, preferably other non-humans.
  4. Home bed: unlike other golems who wander in villages, diamond golems wander around a bed that has just been used by a player, to register just right click the bed and reset the respawn point, multiple beds cam be registered.

Hello, love your mod! I'm working on a modpack and only wanted specific golems to be craftable, I was wondering if it was possible for a config that toggled the golems to be crafted? I'm not sure about all the capabilities of datapacks to accomplish something like this, if so I'd gladly work on that myself. If not, no worries and thank you for the mod!

Edit: I didn't want to make a new comment thanking you, but thank you for the help and I will remember that in the future!

Reply by skyjay1:

There isn't a super-easy way to do it, but if you copy all the golem_stats JSON files for the golems you want non-craftable and simply change "blocks": "whatever" to "blocks": [] then those golems will have no building blocks.
In the future please open a new issue for questions like this :)

Hi, I have a suggestion for a new golem.
The bone golem is a creation made out of bone blocks any necromancer would be proud of. It is the first known undead golem, which means it will burn in sunlight, get healed by poison, and obey the same rules as the other risen. Interstingly enough, this trait causes zombies, and such to not percieve the constructa as a threat, until it is too late for them.
What makes these golems special, is their ability to attack from away, like skeletons do. Unlike their boney brethren, they do not use bows. Instead, they fling heavy bone blocks at their foes. The projectiles also shatter into sharp bits on impact, dealing splash damage to any fiend nearby! If the enemy gets too close for comfort, they don't have a problem with switching their strategy, and brawling the old fashioned way, although their melee strikes are weaker than their long range throws.
Historically, this quality made the bone golems always have been excellent picks for the watchtower duty. They've been known for defending various towns, and villages from hordes of enemies, by supporting the allied warriors from above.

Will you make spawn eggs for all the golems? It seems like a much easier way of spawning.

Hey! I've got a suggestion :3 Would it be possible to heal your golems by 25% (default iron ones too) by clicking on them with the same block type that you used to make them?

A bit of a suggestion. How about a Chest Golem? One you can store items in . Three chests around a trapped chest in the middle (to avoid double-chest problems)

I see you added some golems based on requests. If I may make one, could there be a golem that heals other friendly mobs, including the golems? You could call it a repair golem or something along those lines. That'd be cool.

Edit: Will not be added now that players can heal golems by clicking on them while holding blocks.

Just a suggestion here, I am a fan of the old school D&D as well as Frankenstein. What about a flesh golem made with something like animated flesh blocks. They could be crafted from rotten flesh and/or bone/bone meal. Give them a powerful knock back but a weakness/fear of fire. Just a thought...

I also want to see a furnace golem and I want to also see an armor stand golem

Posted by voryo358:

Since there's a crafting table golem, could you add a furnace golem in the future?

Posted by _ForgeUser14617510:

Furnace Golem. A strong and cheap golem with good health made of cobblestone with a furnace for the chest block, but it sleeps until you feed it fuel to offset the how cheap it is. Right click with fuel in hand and the golem wakes up and does what golems do. The furnace in its chest gives off the same particle and sound effects as a normal furnace when it is fueled and the eyes light up.
Edit: Another idea for the arms and legs is to use iron ore because the golem isn't as powerful as an iron golem but it's stronger and has more health than a sandstone golem. The iron ore is less common than cobblestone but weaker than iron, so it would be like reinforced stone.
Chiseled stone is good too because it would give it that cool, primitive chiseled pattern on it's limbs and it's craftable as of 1.8. The concept is for it to be a more primitive golem because you have to feed it for it to work. It's a statue when it isn't active so they could be placed around as just decorations. Kind of like what you'd find in ancient ruins, hence the chiseled stone blocks.

A golem made entirely of furnace blocks could look really awesome. Maybe even steampunk.
The sleep mode and cheap cost would be their special features. Personally I'd like to stand a bunch around the property in sleep mode. Feeding them to make them work is supposed to offset the very cheap cost of building a powerful golem. In other mods golems also tend to attack things you don't want them to, like tamed mobs, so there are many situations presented by vanilla and all kinds of mods in which a golem that could be turned on when needed could be very useful. And they'd look cool in a garden or in all kinds of maps even if they couldn't be turned on. The aesthetic appeal alone would make them desirable for many players so the ability to feed the furnace golem should probably be a config option. That way they can still placed around as statues.
To make them a bit easier to work with they follow coal when they're "awake". Then you can position them before they power down. Players could find many of uses for the sleep mode, such as leaving some on stand by while a mob grinder fills or strategically placing them along a path or in your mine for emergencies.
When they power down they loose their target, so if your golem runs out of fuel while it is attacking you it won't remember when you turn it back on. When they are asleep they are completely inert so mobs ignore them like they were blocks and since they can only wander until the fuel runs out you can't loose them in the open like you can other golems, so you don't need to pen them in.
A special feature that may or may not be over powered and would make it more useful for battle would be the ability to heal itself. Not with regeneration like another golem, but by slowly healing while it sleeps. It could run out of fuel and power down in the middle of a battle and immediately it is ignored, but it's healing. I'm trying to think of some indicator that would show that a golem is healing vs just asleep. Perhaps the eyes and chest furnace have a little color and a dim glow, like there are embers still burning low in there.
If all 4 blocks are going to be furnaces then for the appearance would it look better to you if there are places on the arms and legs that light up like the eyes do? And I'm unsure about the previously mentioned particle effect. If you think it would be cooler/ better then I'm all for it, but it would probably just add to the work.
Posting before this gets any bigger. It's ridiculous as it is...
Edit: Forgot to add that I would want it to have the same or higher stats than the librarian golem.

Withering Golem: Made with soul sand and golem heads the way you'd make a Wither, except you'd have to right click with/throw a Nether Star at it (consumes Nether Star either way). 150 Health, 15Attack. Occasionally withers target for 20s. Rarely shoots a wither skull that does no block damage and a tiny bit of AOE damage.
Ender golem: Made with End Stone and a golem head, except the center block has to be a purpur block of any kind. 50 Health, 10 Attack. Small chance of Randomly Teleporting the target, nullifies Endermen teleporting nearby. NOT VULNERABLE TO WATER.
Ranged Golem: Made with Hay bales and Golem head, 25 Health, 2 Melee damage. Right click with a large bow to equip it with the bow. Does 20 damage per shot with the bow. (Unenchanted) Uses Huge Arrows as Ammo. Takes triple the time of a regular bow to draw.
Large bow: Crafted from wool (as bowstring), Logs and Dispensers. Can only be used by ranged golems. Enchantable with normal bow enchantments.
Recipe:Wool Log
////////Wool Nothing Dispenser
////////Wool Log
Huge Arrows: Ammo for the golem. Crafted with a plank, 3 flint, and 3 feathers. (Makes 4)

Cactus Golem:
Made by Cactus (obviously). Medium Health, Medium Attack (with after affect)
Web Golem:
Climbs walls, made by Web nest (new block, made by 8 webs around a spider eye) medium health, low attack...
Nuclear Golem:
made by a stack of tnt with Glowstone for arms... Glows, makes HUGE explosion when destroyed... lights up a 5 block radius.
Chest Golem:
Made by Chests with a block of redstone in the middle, picks up loot of killed mob, when killed drops twice as much as loot that it picked up.
King Golem:
Cannot be made, Spawns in Castles (inhabited by villagers and Golems as guards) High Health, Extremely low attack, summons 2 Golems (usually Sandstone) when defending, When in defence spawns 2 Golems every 5 seconds. If you kill the king the castle crumbles and everyone in it dies.

Hmm, maybe piston golems could have extra knockback on the mobs hit? Wall Golems would have slightly less health than regular cobble golems, but have increased speed due to being less bulky.

Could you add mystical agriculture golems?

i would love to see a silents/tinkers sorta aspect where you can combine different blocks for a mix on stats/abilities. know it would be some work but think itd be really cool

1 You can set the arrow to damage only some Hostile entities.
By judging the attack target of the entity, the hostile entity can be distinguished well
This is compatible with other mods.

2 Golems The golems should have a better attack target system, and judge whether to attack the entity through the attack targets of other entities. In this way, the bedrock_golems and villagers will not be beaten passively. They can identify the target through better mechanism. Other entities that attack villagers and golems can also be attacked by golems

The fire dragon attacking villagers is not attacked by golems

Hello, great mod! :)
Have you ever thought of being able to place Banners on golems?
either as a cape, or on the front like a Knight might wear it, or both at the same time?
Would be very fun for golems guarding various areas or factions.
If that would require too much rewriting then a standalone Banner Golem would still be fun, but I have no idea how that would look or how you'd build it.
Edit by skyjay1: This has been added in Extra Golems 11.3.0

so,my suggestion is support/compatibility for the abnormals mods.like extra golems, they support quark
(not all of the abnormals mods add blocks though)
here is a list of the abnormals mods that could be supported :
mods that are available and are on 1.16.4 :
upgrade aquatic
autumnity
atmospheric
the endergetic expansion
buzzier bees
neapolitan
savage & ravage

mods that are still on 1.16.1:
bamboo blocks (it's getting a big update and will be on 1.16.4 soon tho i don't have any ETA since i'm not an abnormals mods dev)
mods that are on 1.15.2 :
swamp expansion
bloomful (these two mods are being merged into environmental though, and so,swamp expansion nd bloomful won't be ported to 1.16.4,according to the abnormals mods devs)
upcoming mods:
environmental
nether extension (these two mods aren't available yet and will be available for 1.16.4 soon as well, but they don't have a release date)

I feel like Botania would be good next mod support as it's a magic tech mod so it'll be possible to give the golem more special functions rather than just being stronger compared to regular iron golems, I wouldn't know if that'll be hard to actually do but I feel like fits the criteria

commented

Posted by drakray:

I'd say:
Conqueror's Library
Never Needed or Wanted
Immersive Engineering

those 3 have mostly the same thing as Thermal
And maybe Botania could be nice?
If just one, CLib, as it has most of Thermal stuff, without Thermal

EDIT: maybe also optionally using Patchouli for the Guide, to be able to easily sort stuff, and better manage everything?

1 Can't modify the health and attack damage of the golem

I hope that I can configure the arrow shot by the golem through config.
These arrows can go directly through specific entities without causing damage.

enderite golems
it would be rly cool if we had one for the enderite mod

Some suggestions I would like to see added in:

  • Add/remove abilities, like add resistance I or regen I to obsidian golems (just an example), remove dry out on coral golems, etc.
A possible way to go about this (although it will make the config longer) is have the special abilities text to be applied to all,
and putting them to = false by default (like magma golem #whenever this golem can occasionally heal when wet "Allow Special: Healing" = false)
Edit by skyjay: Now possible in 1.16.5+ (also the coral golem drying-out is purely cosmetic now)

  • Being able to give armor (not give them like diamond armor, the actual armor stat)
Edit by skyjay: Added in 1.16.5+

  • Aura buffs like regen, instant heal every few ticks, damage, lower enemy damage, etc.

  • Movement speed maybe? This one can be skipped over but still a small suggestion
Edit by skyjay: Added in 1.16.5+

  • A special golem item made from high tier items (emerald block, gold, diamond, iron, obsidian, nether star, etc.) that make a special golem that is like a boss but is friendly/behaves like other golems but with a bunch of cool abilities (like summon mini golems in fights, a jump slam attack that deals aoe with no destructive damage to blocks, etc.)

  • Custom made golems in general, like combine blocks to make amalgamations Like pumpkin melon golem, andesite granite golem, etc.

  • Hostile golems that spawn naturally and are changed visually (maybe stats as well) to differentiate between friendly and hostile, drop the equivalent stuff like magma golem dropping magma blocks and maybe a lava bucket for a rare drop, ender golem drops rare eye of ender, etc.

Some of these might be more suited to a new mod (like vanilla version, enhanced version) but the first 3 I would like to see in this mod.
