Hello,
I'm looking to use the mod in version 1.21.4, but apparently the 1.21.1 version does not work in 1.21.4 despite only being a minor version change. The game crashes instantly on startup.

Minor versions are just as bad as major versions when it comes to compatibility for mods. If the minor version wasn't a quick small update after the previous one. Then usually it will need some work to support.
