As far as i know discord has recently limited the lifetime of links to files. I'm not a developer of this mod, and i'm not 100% sure, but maybe that's the problem.

well, tried it without quotes, got same error

Wait, what mod version are you using? There was a problem with some links (ex. discord links) that may/may not works that I patch a while back. If you're on 1.20.3 or later, I suggest using the latest version 2.3.1. Otherwise, just upload your skin to your cloud storage of choice (for me it's dropbox or just google drive will do)
