preferably get any fm placeholder value as a js var (if this will be simpler than just doing variables)

retrieve because the actions have execute like a mirror LMAO you can name it whatever

i don't think you need one for placeholders explicitly even if they are strings since.. js variables can be strings as well anyway

you could include a transform method for the variables tho? like
fancymenu.retrieve('get_variable', 'meow', boolean);
and throw an error if the value isnt true false 1 1b 0 0b
