Hover sound (button) stops working after entering world/server

Describe the bug
When I open Minecraft, the hover button sound works. After entering a world/server and returning to the main menu, the sound stops working.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Open Minecraft.
Enter a world/server.
Exit to the main menu.
Notice the hover button sound is no longer audible.
Expected behavior
The hover button sound should continue to work after returning to the main menu from a world/server.
