[1.21.4 NeoForge] Custom slider texture breaks/doesn't show the thumb of the slider

Describe the bug
as you can see in #1007, the slider has a custom background texture, but that makes slider thumb never show up

To Reproduce

  • Apply any texture to the slider, thumb never renders

Expected behavior
Thumb renders
