No tabs and text box crash on server

Running version 5.3.2 for Minecraft 1.14.4. When running in single player, everything looks good. I can’t use the search bar, but otherwise, it all works.
When running on a server with the exact same mods, the tabs on the right side don’t appear, and attempting to type in the search box crashes the client.
