I have exhaustively scraped every website this mod is posted on, done everything I can think of on my end to confirm this is not a problem I am causing. This mod does NOT work on multiplayer servers, despite being labelled as a "client" mod on modrinth and curseforge. Even if the server has no resource pack and the client has no resource packs aside from vanilla, the chest animation will still render, resulting in the same amount of chest lag that a vanilla client would have. Since I am unable to find this issue mentioned anywhere on the internet, I am reporting it here so that I can ask the question, is this incompatibility with multiplayer intended? If not, then here's the issue report.

For reference, I am trying to use this mod on minecraft version 1.20.4. This issue persisted even on a fresh modrinth profile with this as the only installed mod aside from its fabric dependency.

Thats weird, this mod worked nicly on 1.20.4 for me, even on multiplayer. What exact version are you using? (link to modrinth version would be nice)

EDIT: Figured out what it was - version 1.7 is not working on 1.20.4 even tho its labeled that way - I recommend using 1.6, should work fine. -> https://modrinth.com/mod/fastchest/version/1.6+1.20.2

Version 1.7+1.20.2 downloaded from Modrinth, just saw the edit as I was about to reply, testing now

Tested Version 1.6 that you linked and it works just fine. Thank you! Changing the issue title to be more descriptive of the problem

I cannot reproduce this. Fresh 1.20.4 installation, Fabric Api 0.97.2, FastChest 1.7, ModMenu 9.2.0.

Oh, duh. I see it now.

I am absolutely certain I had no resource packs enabled when I ran into this issue.

This was the completely fresh profile I used to isolate the issue.

I suspect it's the block tag based API added in the latest version. Minecraft is probably discarding all client side tags when connecting to a server, guess I can't have nice things.
