Scrolls wont work to recapture fey

I have completed the fey questline's chapter 2 (winter court) but if i use a scroll on my summoned fey, nothing happens. i've tried checking all manner of things, but i just cannot figure it out.

Have you tried left clicking the fairy with the scroll. Like you would slap her with it.
