Wooden sticks can be right clicked to be placed in world through quark and can be right clicked for ars nouveau recipes, in create crafters, in drawers etc. For the recipes I know you can use hoppers but it's not ideal (especially if you play a modpack that gates hoppers). NBT would fix that problem :)
