[Bug] Players are able to interact with blocks (chests, furnaces, ect) with an empty hand

Description

Other players are able to interact with chests, furnaces, ect with an empty hotbar slot even if settings have been explicitly set to disable access to chests. However, the proper behavior is displayed (not opening up chests & furnaces) with an item in that players hand.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Have another player create a claim and place down a chest with items.
  2. Interact with the chest using an empty hotbar slot.
  3. It is possible to take items out of the chest and place items in even though it tells the player "Sorry you can't do that here!"

I don't think it is caused by an incapability, but I will list mods used in the server

  • Floodgate/Geyser (for cross play between Java and Bedrock)
