Silencer not working

Describe the bug
A silencer, which is supposed to silence the sound of gunshots, does not work. Even tho the 3d model appears and the item is intalled on the gun, it does not silence shots.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
- Open Minecraft creative mode
- Pick a Gun Modification Table, a silencer, any compatible weapon and ammo
- Install the attachment and load the weapon
- Shoot the weapon and then realize the silencer is not working
Expected behaviour
The weapon's gunshots should be silenced
Versions (please complete the following information)
- Forge: Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge 14.23.5.2847
- Flan's Mod: 5.10.0 (Installed from Flan's Mod's Factions modpack)
Additional context
The Minecraft instance is running directly from Curseforge. I don't know if the problem comes from the mod or the Modern Warfare pack, but I think it's the mod, as the Machetemen Arms Pack (a 3rd party weapon pack) also had the same problem, and, in older versions, I think the silencers and suppressors should work as expected.
