Most people want to play with more mods, and the recipe system here is kind of... limiting. Referring to blocks and items purely by name is I guess slightly effective when you're playing purely vanilla. It still requires you to use specific materials, for example OAK wood planks, even if you are in a spruce forest.

Mainly though, it would be far more useful to enable ore dictionary name usage, for example ingotCopper would allow you to use copper from any mod, or stickWood would allow you to use any wooden stick from any mod. Right now you seem to be in between the two, where you specify "stick" and insist on only using the first stick you ever find ever, but are capable of finding sticks from other mods, no matter how inconvenient to obtain the stick you choose is.

For example, there are plenty of kinds of sticks in the mods I play with. For whatever reason one of them adds an uncraftable item that just so happens to be called "Stick". Guess which stick Flan's Mod chose to use in the recipes wherever a "stick" is required?
