Currently the settings get reset on every restart of the game.
Would it be possible to write the settings to some config file, like many other forge mods do, and restore them upon game start?

Change that to persistent settings on forge and an update to 1.18 and 1.19 on fabric, didn't realize I was on the fabric version here, which does save the settings
