User Lag with FluxNetwork

Updated to the latest versions of FluxNetworks and SonarCore (1.1.5 and 3.2.5 respectively) and experienced a bug where if a player who had a flux network was at their base/home and another player visited them, it would cause crippling local lag due to the person with the flux network sending massive amounts of update data to the player without one, killing both player's connections until the second player could escape through teleportation or admin summoning. Deleting the flux network from the player's menu alleviated the problem.

The server and players that were away from this interaction would not experience or notice this lag, it was just the two users who were together who would be affected.

@TURBO-NITROBOOST Did you experience this issue with older versions of the mod?

Does this happen even if the second player doesn't open anything?

Yes, we experienced it with Flux Networks 1.1.4 and SonarCore 3.2.4 at first. We updated them after we saw the notes for the newest release included a fix to server lag for flux networks, however it didn't fix the problem. Neither player would need to actually do anything - merely being in the presence of the player with a flux network was enough to cause crippling lag to the two players. Unfortunately, I cannot provide anything from the console about a reference to this, as the server didn't seem to notice or care, what with other players being unaffected by the problem.

It appears that whenever the chunk with the controller/plug is located is unloaded/loaded that duplication of plugs/points occurs.

Hello, I'm the admin of the server TNB is from. The lag was localized to the player(s) who had the flux networks. The server didn't have any sort of error in console or begin to slow down for quite a while after the problem began. Once it did catch on that lag was happening, it would slow to a crawl and require a forced restart to get it in working order again. We only learned that it was a massive amount of data packets because one of our effected users has a very touchy router that would work perfectly fine while we was by himself, but then completely break down and need to be rebooted when he triggered the lag problem. He pulled traffic records from his router and discovered the massive amount of data being sent back and forth.

Interestingly, it would seem that this didn't start until we installed the calculator mod, version 3.1.9.. We had originally installed Flux Networks, and had it running for about a week before installing Calculator and didn't notice any issues. I'm not 100% sure that that's because of something sue to Calculator, or if it was because no one had set up a flux network prior to it being added. We're going to be doing some testing in a couple of days to verify if the bug still happens when we remove Calculator.

I can confirm that this issue still exists, in particular it seems to be related to the Flux Storage block. The points, plugs and networks seem to run fine but as soon as there is a flux storage block the massive local lag returns.

as a workaround we've switched to ender i/o capacitor banks with a few extra plugs/points.

@SplitInfinitive are you running 1.1.7?

Currently running 1.1.6. Will try 1.1.7 to see if that resolves the issue.

EDIT: mod update resolved issue. Thank you.
