[1.18.2] hephaestus forge not completing rituals or recieving aureal

Description:
The Hephaestus forge simply stopped working entirely at some point, seemingly randomly, and now cannot complete rituals using the gavel or receive aureal essence from the arcane obelisks, even when assembled entirely correctly and after replacing all parts.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Assemble Hephaestus forge
- Wait, then attempt to finish a ritual
- See error
Expected behavior
The ritual completes as normal and you have an enchanted book, or whatever you were attempting to summon, and the obelisks are able to transport aureal essence to your forge

Additional context
I was using a level 1 forge to make feather falling, and was playing on a modpack named Create Above and Beyond in Newer, or CABIN. cabin shouldn't've been interfering with the magic system; the modpack dev left it mostly untouched. I installed a few clientside mods shortly before, like CEM, CTM and CIT reforged. those shouldn't interfere with anything else considering they're clientside mods purely for aesthetic.
