Pollinated leaves losing persistent tag when pollinating a persistent leaf

When running my apiaries near a hedge (placed leaves with the persistent tag), the bees are pollinating them, transforming them into a new leaf type, and losing the persistent tag, causing the hedge to disappear over time.
