By default, an Apiary produces 0.1x as much as an Alveary, but it can be upgraded with frames to improve the rates.
However, adding Proven Frames causes Apiary production to surpass Alveary. This is incorrect behaviour, since the Alveary is supposed to be better than the Apiary, even with all three frame slots used.
