Consider this scenario: admin dun f*kd up. Some players permissions were messed up, and his inventory perm was set to false. He joins the server, bam, whole inventory gone for good. Wouldn't it be nice if FE made backups of .dat files before wiping the inventory?

This sounds like a great idea. I will look into it when I have time. However, a good backup scheme should mitigate this significantly.
