What exactly are you trying to get the server to do? It looks like you are running a command ingame not on the server. Also, the screenshots don't show me all the commands you are trying to use.

$SERVER is not technically a fake player. Commands run on the console will check the permissions for this group. What commands is vocation sending exactly?

Can you post the permissions.json file and all of your custom json files for vocation.

Also, zone _ROOT_ just refers to the global zone. You use /p user

Based on our conversation on discord, I don't think there is anything we can do on the forge essentials side. Try making a bug report with the vocation developer.

As we moved to 1.12.2, is this still an issue? Closing this issue in 7 days if no response @jelaw21
