Power trident not doing extra throw damage.

I set the option balance.tridents_accept_power to true with the command inside the server, check with the gui just to be sure and it's ticked green. Restart the server just in case.
Enter again, put power 5 in a trident with an anvil, throw it up in the air and catch it with my lovely forehead. 4 hearts of damage. Repeat seven times, each 4 hearts of damage.
Grind the trident, repeat procedure. 4 hearts of damage.
The game allowed me to enchant the trident with power 5 but it seems it's not applying correctly whereas sharpness does.
