When I bucket an aquatic creature, often times it changes gender or removes the effect of stunted essence.

for Gender change
In the game, spawn an aquatic creature able to be bucketed
Use Dinopedia to check gender
Pick it up with the bucket
Place it back down
Check gender again
(sometimes you don't need to check if the creature has visible gender differences)

For removal of stunted essence
Spawn a baby creature able to be bucketed
Use stunted essence on it
Wait a few in game days
Pick it up with a bucket
Place it back down
It will have suddenly aged

I expected my creatures to stay the same gender and not remove stunting when bucketed
