Please use /refreshgun on each of your weapons and carbon armor after updating, to allow them to update their NBT data
Welcome to Fry's Things. The main goal of this mod is to add vanilla-style, balanced guns. (AND THEY ARE 3D!!!). It also adds a few other things, and much more is to come.
The guns are simple: you craft them and ammo at a new bock called the gunsmith table. You reload the gun (default key R) to put ammo in it, and they have durability. You can Right-click to scope in! It's toggle to zoom. There are three tiers of gun noted by the color of their name in the inventory (iron [yellow], steel [cyan], and carbon steel [magenta]), and all steel or lower guns can be upgraded into higher tiers.
Here is a nice little video that shows some of the mod.
You get started by creating the Gunsmith Table, which you can use to craft all your gun components, guns, ammo, and more! Heres the recipe:
You must upgrade the table to craft better guns. To upgrade the table: surround the table with ingots in a crafting table (kind of like how you crafted the table in the first place, but using steel or carbon steel ingots). You must upgrade to steel before carbon tho!
Some of my favorite guns:
- Heavy pistol (This one is basically a super powerful desert eagle.)
- Compact SMG (A really cool SMG)
- Sniper rifle (A long rifle with a lot of zoom)
- Combat shotgun (A spas-12 style semi auto shotgun)
- Old-world revolver (An old fashioned revolver with cool engravings)
There are a total of around 30 guns in this mod. Yet, it doesn't feel like too much, as the guns are very slowly and simply introduced to the player.
Notable guns:
Here are some notable guns (Even more exist in the mod!)
- Flintlock pistol (Simple, all-rounded iron gun.) Single shot
- Musket (Better range, better damage, but slower.) Single shot
- Blunderbuss (Shoots a spread of pellets, dealing massive damage at close range.) Single shot, 6 pellets
- Pepperbox (Shoots up to 6 musket balls in quick succession.) 6 shots
- Cannon (Explosive shots. Explosions destroy blocks, unless gamerule gunGriefing is off) 1 shot
- Revolver (A steel-tier weapon, shoots faster than most weapons, and does moderate damage.) 6 shots
- Lever-Action Carbine (A steel-tier rifle with good accuracy and damage, at the expense of fire rate.) 5 shots
- Double Barrel Shotgun (Steel-tier shotgun that holds 2 bullets. Shoots either Shells or Slugs.) 2 shots
- Bolt-Action Rifle (Steel-tier slow but high-damage rifle with a scope. Upgrades to a sniper rifle) 4 shots
- Pump-action shotgun (A steel-teir shotgun with 5 bullets and a tight spread. Perfect for hunting anything.) 5 shots
- Pistol (A premium carbon steel weapon, firing bullets at a high firerate and dealing slightly less damage.) 12 shots
- Light Machine Gun (A premium carbon-steel machine gun, featuring a fast firerate and decent damage, just not as accurate, and takes up a lot of ammo quickly) 40 shots
- Combat Shotgun (A premium shotgun that fires very fast.) 8 Shots
- SMG (A fast-firing submachine gun with a lot of ammo capacity that isn't too expensive to make.) 50 shots
- Assault Rifle (3 round burst assault rifle, that fires in automatic if you hold it down. High fire rate, and craftable) 30 shots
- Battle rifle (Ping!) 10 shots
Guns only obtainable via chest loot:
- Heavy Machine gun (The heavy machine gun fires very fast, in a large spread. Found in some bastion remnants) 100 shots
- Ranger Rifle (This classic army rifle has a scope on it, and is found in end cities. The Endermen hated projectiles so much that they stole this gun before the secret on how to make it got out.) 25 shots
- Old World Revolver (Rarely found in the woodland mansion, this revolver is an antique but is amazing.) 6 shots
- Classic pistol (A 1911 style pistol that deals more damage than the normal pistol, but has less ammo. Found rarely in pillager outposts.) 7 shots
- Machine pistol (The fastest firing gun in the game (15 shots/s!), that has a high DPS but little ammo and less than accurate. Found in jungle temples.) 20 shots
- Heavy pistol (Large pistol. Enough said lol. Found in buried treasure) 7 shots
- Compact SMG (A fast SMG with a decent mag. Found in nether fortresses) 35 shots
Default reload key is R. You can switch between ammo types for the shotguns by pressing X by default.
Guns can zoom by right clicking. This is on toggle (as of 2.0.0)
You can also upgrade guns (see recipes below).
You can repair guns as well, simply by crafting a repair bench (in the gunsmith table) and putting the gun in, and any part used to originally craft it!
Gun Mechanics:
Guns have the following features:
- Firing on left click
- Aim-down sights (toggle)
- Semi-auto and fully automatic weapons
- Reloading and bullets in magazine
- Recoil animations (for some, will add the rest soon!)
- Multiple bullet types for shotguns
- Custom sounds
- Various amounts of accuracy
- Accuracy changes with movement
- Multiplayer compatibility
Each gun also has individual damage, fire rate, bullet velocity, accuracy (and multipliers while moving), aim-down sight zoom & slowness amount, max ammo, and other values.
Fire rate, ammo, and max & current ammo can also be changed with NBT data tags "firerate", "ammo", and "maxAmmo"
In addition to guns, there are also ores, blocks, tools, and certain other small additions.
I thought that gunpowder was difficult to get for this mod. Crafting ammo would be very expensive without another way to craft it. So: I added Sulfur.
You can find Sulfur anywhere underground in stone. It can also be found in the sand in deserts, and in the Nether.
Crafting a bone meal, a sulfur, and a coal or charcoal will create one gunpowder. You can also use sulfur to make matches for lighting fires.
There are also flint tools, and steel tools and armor. As well as a carbon-steel pickaxe, and diamond-tipped variant.
Gun Recipes
Guns
All guns and components for them can be crafted at the Gunsmith table. The materials for each gun are listed in game (screenshot outdated).
Ammo
All ammo is available in the gunsmith table too!
Upgrading Guns
As mentioned previously, guns at the iron and steel tier can be upgraded into more powerful variants. This can be done at the upgrade table with the following recipes (You obtain an upgrade table by crafting it in the gunsmith table).
As of 1.0.5, all upgrades are specialized and unique, except steel-teir upgrades which are just known as Engraved
Engraved flintlock
Duel flintlock (using the engraved one)
Engraved musket
Ranger musket (using the engraved one)
Engraved blunderbuss
Large blunderbuss (using the engraved one)
Engraved pepperbox
Powerful pepperbox (using the engraved one)
Double action revolver
Heavy revolver
Long-Range Lever Action
Extended double-barrel
Sniper rifle: Use the Bolt Action Rifle with a block of Carbon Steel, Gun Parts, and Glass

Armor crafting recipes
Crafting Armor
Several unique armors can be crafted at a crafting table. They use sewing kits, which are crafted with 2 leather and 2 string.
Steel
Carbon steel
Disclaimer: Carbon steel armor is mainly cosmetic, and offers not a lot of protection. It's best for minigames, however it IS useful because despite low protection, it has knockback resistance better than netherite and it has incredibly high amount of wear before breaking.
Armor Variants
Different carbon steel armor "camo" can be created by adding dyes using guides below. (Many dyes can be switched out for similar colors, such as light blue and blue)
Desert: brown and orange
Forest: green and brown
Multicam: green and yellow
Snow: white and gray dye
Police: blue and yellow
Colored camo: almost any color dye
Default: item in crafting grid with no dye

Making raw steel and then forging it into steel ingot (BLAST FURNACE. You can also use copper from other mods instead of gold):
Creating carbon steel from a steel ingot mixed with a block of flint (in smelting table):
Making the Gunsmith Table:
Tools
Steel and flint tools and swords are created the same way as any other vanilla material.
Matches (similar to fire charges)
Multi-tool (combine all steel tools together)
Carbon steel pickaxe (using pipes instead of sticks)
Upgrading a carbon steel pickaxe into its diamond-tipped variant
