Currently functional storage drawers only allow the item to face outwards (North, East, South, and West), but not Up or Down. I would love such a feature, and something like this already exists in a very old mod, JABBA which provides a "better barrel" with an upgrade system much like Storage Drawers, and now Functional Storage.

Use case: You want to have something automated close together and output items at the bottom. Having a normal drawer "in the ground" will unfortunately end up hiding the item display. Allowing for the display to face up would allow such close automation without having to awkwardly rewire everything.
