In 1.20.1 view distance of drawer content is only 14 blocks. Tried changing client config render distance to 32, but no change. Not sure if this is a bug or intended. If intended, should look at allowing servers to be able to adjust render distance of drawer contents.

I can't replicate the issue, make sure to save the file and try to restart the game to apply the changes.
