I ported (and have started to expand) the compost bin and compost functionality to MC 1.12 in a mod called Composter: https://github.com/Stormwind99/Composter

Feel free to support the Composter mod, add it as a dependency to add related GardenCollection features to GardenStuff, or even just grab the code to use.
