It would be nice to have an ability to disable/enable generation of individual ores, so you could disable generation of some ores and left the others.

E.g. I would like to (but likely not only me) disable quartz ore generation in the overworld to move quartz away from the early game and make it (and hence advanced redstone mechanisms) not so easy available.

I would be happy to see this idea implemented in Gems and Crystals mod for Minecraft 1.15, but also for the legacy 1.12 (if it won't be too hard to backport).
